Flying Pig WiFi

The crew of Flying Pig, Lydia and Skip

Flying Pig is Skip and Lydia's Morgan 461.  They've chosen to equip Flying Pig with an IslandTime Core 2 Duo computer and an IslandTime WiFi.

Skip has mounted his WiFi system at the masthead, offset on a piece of aluminum angle.  The height helps maximize his ability to connect to distant stations.

All photos and screen shots are by Captain Skip Gundlach of the Flying Pig.

Flying Pig entered the northern Bahamas at the end of September 2009.  Skip has sent me screen shots of wifi scans he's made from various anchorages as he moved south to Marsh Harbor area.  I've included some of these screen shots on this page to give everyone an idea of the availability of access points in the Bahamas.  Skip says he'll send more as he moves toward Georgetown, Exumas in the new year.

Keep an eye out for Flying Pig if you're traveling the Bahamas in 2010.  Skip has a wireless router and he will be glad to provide you with access to it if you dinghy over and introduce yourselves.
